Back to the Gorindex

Again I, Tarl Cabot of Ko-ro-ba, found myself on the always green fields of Gor. I woke up, naked, in the by the wind flattened grass, under that flaming star, that is the common sun of both my worlds, my homeplanet, Earth, and its for so long secret sister, Counter-Earth, Gor.

Slowly I stood up, all my fibres alive in the wind, my hairs blowing by the gusts, my muscles, stiff but joyful in their first movements during, perhaps, weeks.

Thus I stood, to let every vein and every sense drink in, during several minutes, the wonders of my return. Again I felt the somewhat lesser gravity of this planet, but this feeling would, I knew, disappear as soon as my constitution would get used to the new environment.

The sun, as I remembered, looked to me somewhat bigger than when I observer her from the earth, but as before, it was difficult to determine.

A little bit further I could see a vague impression of yellow, the Ka-la-na thickets, that dots the fields of Gor in many places. Far away, on my left, I saw a remarkable large field of Sa-Tarna, of which the stalks bowed themselves majesticly in the Gorean winds. The very long yellow-golden grain, that forms a cornerstone in the Gorean diet.

On my right I perceived a far-away tinge of mountains, that would be, because of their appearance and height, the Thentis mountains. From that spot, if it were true, I would be able to determine the direction of Ko-ro-Ba, that city of cylinders, the Towers of the Morning, to whom I had pledged my sword years ago...
