The little angel
|
|
Little Dora was 4 years old. She stood before the window and was staring outside. The sun was shining because it was a beautiful day. She looked at the rays of the sun that were shining through the window, creating many fantastic colours. She was fantasizing as to how it would be to sit on such a beam and be carried away toward the sun. But she knew that wasn’t going to happen because the sun is so very hot that no one can ever come near it. The colours kept changing and all of a sudden it seemed that within that magnificent colour fusion the face of a sweet little girl was to be seen. The girl was just about her age and had little wings. Dora stared breathlessly at the being that was emanating so much love that she had to cry. The girl came to her, put an arm around her shoulder and asked: “Why are you weeping, Dora?” She whispered through her tears: “You are so beautiful and tender, I just have to cry; where do you come from?” “I have come from a country where you actually cannot come. It is a country where all people and children love each other. There exists no war nor pain. Everybody is happy and joyous. The people love each other. Dora’s eyes started to glisten. She wiped her tears away and said: “I would so very much like to go there. Can I come with you?” The little angel, because that was what it was, replied: “If you are that eager I will come and fetch you some time, but I promise to take you back. Is that okay with you”. “Yes, yes!” Dora nodded vigorously and her eyes were sparkling. The suggestion to be in a country where there was only love and no pestering and no hardship, is for someone here on earth very tempting. Dora was often harassed by the other children. She did not know why, because she was always nice to everybody and couldn’t bear injustice. But maybe that was why they were so jealous. Who was to say? When she opened her eyes, the girl was gone. She looked around and then outside, maybe she would be there? But Dora’s new friend was nowhere to be seen. Where was she? She did not know and thought about her all day, until she went to bed. But she did not tell anybody, not even to Fleur, her precious doll. At one point, Mama asked: “What is going on, Dora, you are so dreamy?” She just wanted to tell her but she did not dare because she was afraid that mama would say it wasn’t true and that she had been dreaming. But she was so sure; it wasn’t a dream at all. When she was in her bed at last and mama had hugged her, had said sleep well and shut off the lights she asked aloud: “Little girl, will you please come back soon?” She stuffed Fleur against her cheek, put her thumb in her mouth, turned to her left side and fell asleep. She dreamt about a very beautiful country. A land of Love. In her dream the girl came to her and asked: “Will you come with me now to my country?” “Oh yes, please”, Dora answered. She climbed out of her bed, went to the little angel who took her in her arms. And thus they flew away together. She heard the fluttering of the little wings. She became very quiet; it gave her a happy feeling. The voyage was not very long and carefully she was put upon the ground by the little angel. Quickly she opened her eyes but was caught unexpectedly by so much bright light that you would be blinded if you looked directly into it. “Close your eyes a little while, Dora,
wait a minute and open them again little by little.” She did as what
was told to her and yes, now she was able to endure the light. She
didn’t know what she saw. What gorgeous and tender surroundings. There
were so many flowers that were beautifully coloured and smelled deliciously
that she couldn’t get enough of it. She heard the whistle of many
a bird, a small stream was lapping through the valley and a small
waterfall radiated so much tranquillity that you would dream away
if you lingered there. Afterward they took a look at a school. The children were only taught good things. How to be good to nature, to the animals, and to your fellow human being. They did not use money there. If you were in need of something, you could just ask and if you had too much of something, you just gave it away to someone who needed it. They sang cheerful and sensitive songs. Dora could sing with them. The melody was not difficult and soon she knew how, and she sang along at the top of her voice. Tenderly the children looked at her, There were none to pester her. Tears welled up in her eyes about so much love. “Why do you cry?” the children asked and the little angel put her arms around her. “You are all so sweet to me, no one is harassing me, I only get help. In this world I very much would like to live.” The girl took Dora outside and said with a serious face: “You cannot stay here, my darling. You have seen and felt how it is to live in a land of love and light. Charge yourself with that warmth, with that love and light. I’ll take you to a holy well. After a little while they arrived at a
well that instead of water was radiating warmth, love and light. Dora
stood herself in the middle and she felt she became completely warm
inside. Her heart spilled over of happiness and she saved the light
that was shining upon her in her heart. She was overflowing with bliss.
“Now you must to go home again,” the girl said. Tomorrow you will have to go to school.” For a little while Dora resisted but because she still was flooded with that love of the elegant well, she new the girl was right and that she had to go home. It would be fine to try and persuade other people by her behaviour how it was to be good to others and not to lapse into ghastly thoughts or actions. Once again the girl took Dora in her arms and together they flew back to earth where she was laid in her little bed lovingly. Fleur was awaiting her. The little angel kissed Dora and said: “When you are sad or lonely, just think of me. Then you will know that you will always have a friend who will be around you at all times. And so you will never be lonely.” They embraced and Dora said: “You will also be my friend, for ever!” While Dora turned to her left side with her thumb in her mouth, the girl tiptoed out of the room and Dora dreamed about all that she had encountered. Her entire life was one of happiness and
prosperity. If she was in need she relived in her thoughts the great
adventure and she knew that the little angel who meanwhile – she was
sure of that – would have grown into a big angel, would be with her
all the time. Once in a while these helpers make themselves known and maybe that’s what happened to you as well and maybe some happy day, you will be able to see one of them. Do not be afraid. They will be nice to you and help you wherever it will be possible… | ||
